What is Unite Arlington and the Unite weekend?

Unite Arlington is a community-wide movement to work together to make Arlington better. An initiative designed to build Arlington as the American dream city – Unite Arlington aims to bring together diverse groups across our city to serve the needs of the community.

 

As part of Unite Arlington, there is a citywide service campaign launching on October 3 & 4, 2020 – a weekend experience geared at helping others and serving the greater city of Arlington.

What volunteer opportunities are there with Unite Arlington?

There are a hundred different projects your organization can get involved in. Everything from park cleanups and home repair for our seniors to school beautification. Projects are located at various destinations throughout the city of Arlington – there are also various serving times.

 

At this time, there are no projects that can be done virtually.

What if I have physical or health issues that affect what I can do, can I still volunteer?

Absolutely! There are indoor and outdoor projects available – and also projects available for those who are unable to do manual labor.

Can kids volunteer?

There are limited projects available for kids of all ages. As you are checking out the project list, age requirements will be noted.

What do I need to do the day of the launch event?

Unite Arlington will take place on October 3 & 4, 2020 with check-in at the Levitt Pavilion located at 100 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010

 

  • Arrive at the Levitt Pavilion at 9am on October 3rd for check-in, complimentary breakfast & t-shirt.
  • Martin High School’s award winning Symphony Orchestra will provide music for the launch event.
  • Mayor Williams will commission all participants with a brief program
  • Head to your designated project location
  • Complete your project

What happens if it rains?

If it rains on October 3rd, all volunteers who have signed up for a project will receive a notification if their project is going to be rescheduled because of the rain.

What do I need to wear/bring?

Be sure to dress appropriately for the project you will participate in and take the weather into consideration. Also, please bring your own water for the day. There will be limited water available at the check-in site, but water will not be provided at the project sites.

 

There will be bathrooms located at the check-in site and also at some project site locations.

How are we protecting each other from COVID-19?

With regard to COVID19, all currently outstanding Orders of the Governor, Tarrant County and City of Arlington shall be strictly adhered to by everyone participating in the Unite Arlington Community Service Day. At all times when a participant is in a gathered public space, they are required to wear a mask while participating in Unite Arlington. If you don’t have a mask, we will provide one for you at the Levitt Pavilion. Social distancing should be maintained at all times when it is possible. Please carry hand sanitizer with you and use as needed.
